LATEST AUCKLAND NEWS. [BY TELEGRAPH. — OWN CORRESPONDENT.]

Singular Accident. Auckland, Monday Night. A young man named Larmar, son of a settler at Kaitaia, near Mongomii, went out pig shooting on Saturday, and mistook an old native in a stooping po&ition for a pig, and fired at him. The native was not much hurt.

The Waihora. The Waihora was released from quarantine this afternoon.

The Kaihu Railway. A cablegram received from London today announces that the £50,000 loan for the extention of the Kaihu Valley Railway has been successfully floated. About £10,000 has been already spent on the wharf at Dargaville and the first section of the line.

The Mails. The accident to the Ringarooma has delayed the VVanaka, and the outward 'Frisco mail steamer due to-morrow morning will be delayed till six p.m. tomorrow.

An Old Auckland Sweep. It ia stated that Theodore Brown, the Auckland bogus sweep promoter, is making up a £50,000 sweep in Melbourne.

The Floods. The Tha.mes county race was damaged by a landslip at Parawai, and the water supply to the batteries and the Queen of Beauty pumps has consequently been stopped.
