THE PRICE OF CHEESE.
_ » TO THE EOITOK. Sir,—For the information of the residents of Cambridge, please be good enough to publish the following extract, taken from a paper which reached lne by the Suez mail to-day. From previous correspondence with a large firm in London, I fear the prospect of realising much more than 6d or Oid per lb. is not v Very encouraging I have given the matter considerable attention, and I affirm that to get anything like the price in London ,Mr James Forrest is reported to have mentioned at the Cambridge meeting, viz : S5 per cent, is at present impossible.—lam, &c, R. T. MILLAK. Paterangi, August 13th. Extract from "The Farming World," (London), Juno 21. The New Zealand farmers arc exporting cheese to England. Mr John Bruce, says the Akaroa Mail, sent Home some cheese per h.s. Doric last October. It ai rived in England in excellent condition, and realised 6d per lb.
