Supposed Drowning Case. Apcku.vd, Friday Night. Green, the gum digger saved by the captain of the Durham from drowning at Dargaville, is missing. It is supposed that he dived after his bout, and has been d i owned.

Registration. In view of the approching elections, a rush is being made by electors to register. No less than 230 new names were added to the city rolls to-day.

The York Hotel License. The Karangahape Licensing Court definitely refused to renew tiie license of the York Hotel in East-street.

The Queen's Hotel. Thos. Holly has been accepted as a suitable licensee for the Queen's Hotel in place of Swindles'.

The '• Lambing Down" Case. The Swan Hotel " lambing down" will come before the bench in a new form. Information has been laid by the police against Adams for supplying Franks with liquor whilst he was already intoxicated. It is understood that Mr Theo. Cooper will appear tor the prosecution.

An Action for Slander. It is the intention of Mr A. McArthur, principal of the Auckland Training College, to institute a civil action in the Supreme Court against Mr David Goldie, timber merchant, and a member of the Board of Education, for alleged slanderous statements made by him regarding Mr McArthur at several meetings of the board lately.
