London, April 30. The death is announced of Sir ,Mitchael Coita, the eminent musician, aged 74. The cholera patients on board H.M. transport Crocoilile are all recovering, and the troops which the vessel brought home have been landed. It is expected that no further cases will now occur. A telegram from Havannah, the capital of Cuba, states that » terrible catastrophe occurred there. The powder magazine at the arsental exploded, and, the shock also caused a gasometer in the neighbourhood to blow up. Immense damage was done to the adjoining^ buildings, and a uumber of persons in the vicinity lost their lives. May 1. The French Government have definitely notified its acceptance of a proposal that a Conferance on the State affairs in Egypt should be held, but without waiving its demand that the Egyptian question shall be open for discussion. The marriage of Prince Louis of Battenburg, with the Princess Victoria of Hesse-Darmstadt, was celebrated at Uramstadt with great ceremony. Her Majesty Queen Victoria, the Prince and Princess of Wales, and the German Crown Prince and Princess, were present. The Queen did not attend the banquet which followed, on account of the recent death of the Duke of Albany. Sir H. B. Loch, the newly-appointed Governor of Victoria, has decided to sail on the 24th instant. Arrangements have been made with the Australian term for a match at Birmingham on the 26th instant and following days.
