The following was the result of Thk Two Thousand Guineas Stake— A subscription of lOOsovs. each, h ft for three-year-olds ; colts 9st, fillies Bst Dibs ; the second horse to receive 200sovs. out of the stakes, and the third to save his stake. Captain Steele advertises for sale Ellison's improved f^rrn of 100 acres near Hamilton, and within easy distance of the cheese factory. The date? and places on and at which the Licensing Committees of Alexandra Town, Rangiaohia, Kihikihi Town and Mangapiko will sit, are advertised elsewhere. Mr J. S. Buckland will sell on the premises, Alexandra, on the 31st inst., the whole of the valuable furniture and effects of Mr 5. Bond. Sse list in advertisement. Exclusive of the catch in Manitoba, in the north-west Provinces, the total value of the catch of the Canadian fisheries in 1882 was £3,364,818. Of this about £400,000 came to Great Britain, aud nearly £500,000 went to the United States. The salmon trade of British Columbia, which is capable of indefinite development, is increasing.
