WELLINGTON, Friday.

The Government has received advices that the Doric is bringing 229 immigrants, the majority being nominated. Of these 183 are for Canterbury, and the remainder for Wellington and adjacent transhipping ports. There are 29 families, 56 single men, and S6 single women. The following nominations for assisted immigration to be forwarded by Sau Francisco mail have been received :— Auckland, 11 ; Taranaki, 16 ; Hawke's Bay, 36 ; Wellington, 69; Nelson, 9 ; Westland, 11; Marlborough, 3; Canterbury, 57 ; Otago, 83 ; Southland, 83 j total, 376.
