A PUBLIC WORKS MONUMENT.
TO THE EDITOR. Sib,— Another, yes, it's, to be hoped the present Minister t> attention was called to the last specimen of public works foresight and departmental ability, known as the Rukuhut goods shed, pointed at by all who see it .is a monument of folly, standing in a swamp 40 feet deep, without connection with the railway or road. Goods either arriving or departing cannot be stoi'ed in it. It is to be hoped for the credit of the country it will be shifted — or burnt. Harvest and threshing will &oou be in full swing, and several hundred acres of grain to be housed, and this place cannot possibly be utilised. Hoping the powers that be will see to it, — I am, &c, Rukuhia.
