THE WAIKATO CHEESE AND BACON FACTORY, HAMILTON.
Active opeiations were commenced at the factory yesterday, under the personal superintendence of Capt. Runcimau, the managing director of the company. Owing to the long continuance of cold weather, and the abnounal .scaicity of feed, it was not expected that a largo supply of milk would be forthcoming at the outset, and thib anticipation was realised. The quantity delivered at the factory was between 150 and 1(50 gallon^, but it may reasonably btr concluded that ere the week is out this quantity will bo doubled. The vat is capable of woi king up 1200 gall n», but even with the small quantity received yesterday it performed its work very satisfactorily. Mr T. S. Runcmian will act as resident mxn.igei for the present, Ca.pt. Runciuian retaining the peisonal oversight. In a month or .so it is believed that the capacity of the plant will be fairly taxed, and we have no doubt that a very successful season is before the company.
