KIHIKIHI.
A meeting of the Kihikihi Town Board was held on Saturday last, when two applications were received for the position of secretary. That of Mr Forbes Gordon was successful. One of the members of the board, in view of the fact that there will soon be three hotels in that centre of commerce, and the rapidly-increasing population of that really rising township, proposed that a conntable be applied for. It is also rumoured that a look-up and court-house, with a resident magistrate, will be applied for also. Mr Cooper's Dramatic Club intend soon giving a popular performance, entitled "The Rent Day." From Mr Cooper's well-known histrionic abilities, his rare tact in casting his characters, and his popularity as an actor, he is sure to have a full house, and the public will have a really good evening's amusement. — [A Correspondent, July 9th.]
