Letter to be held over. — The Hamilton Road Boaid forwaidod pl.ms of roads to be stopped for the continuation of the council. — The clei k was directed to issue the necessary advertisements. -The Hamilton Road Board applied for the appointment' of Mr Samuel Gclston as a member of the board.— On the motion of Cr. Steele, seconded by Cr. Teasdale, Mr Gelston was appointed to lill the vacancy. — The Mang.ipiko Road Board notified thecoun-, cil that the ratepayers, bad faded to elect a new board. — Cr. Geimanu moved. Cr. Tisdall seconded, "• That Messis J. Newland, S. Tiobe, Jones, R. T. Millar, and M. Forinan bo appointed a boaid. — Carried.— The Hamilton Road Boaid forwarded debenture lorms to be issued by the council. — The clerk was directed to notify the boauls inteicsted that all necessary powers hail been delegated. — The clerk was ordered to obtain a new seal, and aUo a supply of rate books, and rate collecting books.— The resignation of Cr Had field was received. Engineer's Rkport.&c.— The Engineer brought up his monthly report, and the plans for new applications foi loans. — Cr. German n moved, and Cr. Tisdall seconded, " That the next applications under Roads and Biidges Consti notion Act be, for Hamilton, £GOO ; L'ukekuia, £600 ; M.mgapiko, £600 : Rangiaohia, t'u'oo; Newcastle, £o0Q ; Tuhik.irame.i, £300. Total, £3200: Crs. Lake and Steele to appiove of plans befoLe being s>cnt to Wellington."— Canied. Tl'W'OMts The tendei of Mr Walsh was accepted for Hook's Bridge. — For Brown'b cuUert no tender was accepted. RbruitMVG Oi'Ficbr. — Cr. Germann moved and Cr. Lamb seconded, "That Mr Maunder be appointed the returning officer for the county, he to make all necessary arrangements for the various ridings, and to be hold responsible for all elections being canied out in accordance with the various Acts." — Carried. Office Hours. -Cr. Oermann moved and Cr. Steele seconded, " That the office houn be from 10 a.m. till 3 p.m. every Tuesday." — Carried. Clerk's Salary. — Cr Germann moved and Cr. Tisdall seconded, " That in view of the great increase of work, the clerk's salary till further arrangements, be at the rate of £.i 2 pjr annum, to date from June Ist " — Carried. Finance Committee —Cr Steele moved and Cr. Lake seconded, "That the Finance Committee consist of any tlnec members prest-nt." — Can icd. This was all the business.
