CAMBRIDGE TOWN BOARD.
Tim monthly meeting of thu above board was held in tin; boaul's office, Cam budge, on Monday, the 11th inst., at 7 p.m. Present : Commissioners T. Wells (chairman,) Jas Johnson, G. E. Clark, and D. Riehaid=on. The minutes of the ptcvious meeting were read and confirmed. Telegrams were received from Messrs Sperry and Tonks, re valuation roll. The matter was allowed to stand over until Mr Sperry's letter on the subject should bo received. A letter was read from Mr Williams, re trimming the hedge of of Ktikwood's pnddock, the state of the water tible in Victoria-stteet, and other matters. On the motion of Mr Clark, seconded by Mr Richardson, it was resolved that Mr Carter, the lessee of Kirkwoods paddock, be requested to have the hedge around the paddock trimmed, and that the secretary write to Mr Williams, stating that the matters referred to in his letter would have the immediate attention of the board. Commissioner Clark handed in the report of the Sale Yard Committee, and made a few suggestions as to a revision of charges. All horses yarded to be charged for at the rate of 6d per head. The yards to be cleared by 5 p.m. on each day of sale, otherwise the cattle to be turned out, unless special notice is left at the office of the board. A charge of 6d per head to be made for any cattle remaining in the yard over night, and no cattle to be allowed to remain in the yard over 24 hours. Proposed by the chairman, seconded by Commissioner Richardson, and lesolved : — "That the yard commitU be empowered to put the yards in propel order, at a cost not exceeding £25. Resolved, on the motion of Commissioner Johnson seconded by Commissioner Richardson :'— " That on and after tV. 1 3b August, all cattle found, at lai go m the streets of the Xxsmi -vfll be impounded.
