LICENSING COMMITTEES. Cambridge.
Tjii: licensing committee for the above distiict was held in the (Joint house, Cambndge, on Tuesday. Picsent :— Commissioners H. Ashcr (chairman,) Jno. Runciman, J. Allwill, H. W. Mooic, and A. G. Hughes. The following applications for renewal of lincense weio gi anted : — K. Kirk wood, Duke of Cambiiflge ; l'\ Rose, Masonic ; K. Hewitt, Critenon ; and IJ. Gillett, National. Mr J. T. Camp applied for an accomodation license for the Tamahere Hotel. Granted, at £15 for the 3 cv. Messib Gillett and Kirkwood applied to have the time for closing their houses extended to 11 o'clock. Mr \Y. M. Hay appeared in support of their applications. Constable Bicnnan objected to any alteration of the hours of closing in the district. He thought the existing houis s\eie sufficient, and the act made amnle provision for bonu fule lodgers or travellers. Applications refused.
