The Markets. Auckland, Last Night. The market to-day shews few alterations from last weeks quotations. Butter, wholesale, now realises Is per 1b ; retail, Is 3d ; eggs have advanced in value 3d per doz ; the gum market continues quiet, the weeks receipts being 450 tous.
Board of Education. At the Board of Education meeting, today, Mr Dargaville withdrew his motion for fortnightly nuetiugs, and resigned his seat.
Agricultural and Pastoral Association. /At the annual meeting of the Agricultural ami PasloroL Association this afternoon, the secretary submitted the-bal-ance-sheet, whicli showed the receipts (including bank overdraft of £490) to to have amounted to £844, and the expeuditure (ie eluding bauji overdraft of ,£,3,73J.iip to, Mft??h {ty^ foota ,*pj tfcs
same amount. The comtnittee'3 report regretted that the operations of the society during the past year had not been altogether successful, and expressed a doubt whether it was desirable to have such a contract this year. The annual entire horse parade was fairly successful, and the committee considered it mostnecessary to the farming community, There was a great falling ott in the annual subscriptions of membership. The subject of having one show day for dead stock and another for live stock was left to the committee to consider. The committee meeting subsequently decided to hold* a ploughing match this year as usual on Wednesday, the 26th June (if convenient).
