I Tiik township of Huntly, tho property of the W.S.N. Co., consisting ot about 150 acres of land, divided into lota varying in size from i quarter of an acre to five acre I*,1 *, will be &old by public auction on Wednesday next, the 30th, by Messrs 11. Toulis and Co., at their Mart Queenstreet, Auckland. We would direct the attention, of those in searcli of freehold investments to the plans of the pioperty and adsiso them to make themselves acquainted with its features. Huntly, for various reasons, is likely soon to develope into a place of considerable importance. Its position at the lower end of the valley of the YVaikato and Waipa ih a commanding one, as the traffic between this district and Aucklind must of necessity pass through ifc. The large tract of fertile countiy lying between the West Coast and the WaiUato river also has its natural outlet lieie, as the railway which inu-stat no very distant dato pierce it, will, without doubt, cross the river at this point. Apart from its advantageous position in regard to the immense country around, Huntly is situated in a distiiet abounding in mineral wealth, coal, iion, lime and potteiy clay, the latter of winch is unsui passed in England. Pioducts of minor iiupot tancc, such as clays for tiles, bricks, and the commoner sorts of potteiy ware aie also to be found in profusion. JCverything, therefore, augurs a giand future for Huntly, as a manufaetiuing centre. At present the output of coal is about 200 tons per diem, in the winning of which some (>5 men are engaged, but tl c amount is daily increasing, and soon we may expect to see hundreds of miners in busy employment, creating, with their families and the members of the various retail trades that will be required, a large community. We are Man anted in predicting this by the fact that tho coal is finding its way into cntiiely new markets. It has been proved to be the most suitable for the iron works at Onehunga, which will lequire 40 tons a-dny at the commencement. Sea - going steameifj aie also u^ing it extensively. It will be secMi fioin this that tlieie a good future befoie the new town-snip.
