Chandler, baulked at the stone wall and repeatedly I'efused, and was nob got over till, the - others led by half-a-mile. At the back of the course Lady Bab led, Pastitiio next, but coming down the hill Sportsman had taken the load. However; ■he soon baulked, causing Pastime to do likewise. Passing the stand Lady, BBarb r galloped strongly and led, Mount, hard held, second, Reform third, , and Chandler and Christmas several lengths behind. At the top of the hill Lady Bab still led, and other positions still unklterfe'd. lAt the second jump from 1 hortic all baalked ; then Reform , showed , across, his stable companion following, and Mount. "The race finished in this" 6'rdoi', two lengths separating the first and second, and Mount three behind.

Hijipodamia came up at the back of the course, and at the home timrwas ou< terms with Poet, who led, The two raced tuck and neck up the straight, P'oofc \wrining by a short nose, Larry a length behind.
