MR BRYCE'S MOVEMENTS.
Tiik Hon. the Native Minister, accompanied by Mr T. W. Lewis (Undersecretary), Mr Butler (Private-Secre-tary), and Mr Hursthouse arrived at Hamilton from Te Awanmtu on Tuesday and remained at Gwynne's cottage for the night. Yesterday morning Mr Bryce, accompanied by Messrs Butler and Hursthouse, and Mr D. M. Beere (Resident Engineer) proceeded to Raglan for the purpose of inspecting the roads in that district, more especially that between Raglan and Aotea and beyond, with a view to opening up land communication with the newly-opened port of Kawhia They are expected to return to Hamilton to-morrow, when Mr Bryce will proceed to Auckland. It is not known yet whether Mr Bryce will proceed overland to Mokau, but as since Te Koofci has been pardoned there exists no difficulty in the way the minister will in all probability carry out his original intention. ' Mr Lewis, the Under-Secretary for Native Affairs, went to Auckland by yesterday's train, and will there await the arrival of the Native Minister.
