Til X Land Court resumed at Cambridge yesterday morning) the Te Whetu ease still remaining unfinished. Mr Sheehan should ha\ c been pi eseut to represent his client, but was detained in Auckland through illness. A discussion on the matter of proceeding with the case occupied the Court for some considerable time, their Honors deprecating any farther loss of time, though they seriously regretted the illness of Mr Sheehan. Mr Mangukahia, who had originally represented Ngatimaihi, was called upon to proceed with the case, but he having handed over the case to Mr Sheehan at an early stagehand having been absent since, not knowing what had been done in his absence, was unable to proceed until instructed. Alter some further disciw sion on the matter, the Court adjourned till 2 o'clock.
