WESLEY AN CHURCH ANNIVERSARY.

The anniversary services in connection with the Wesleyan Church were well attended at Cambiklge on Sunday last, The announcement that the Rev. Joseph Berry, of Dunedin, and formerly of Waikato, Avas to preach brought a large number of the members of the church from all parts of the district ; and consequently the church during the morning service was much crowded. The service was conducted by the Rev. W. tipencc, ot the Noith Sh«re, Auckland. As Mr Berry was unable to attend, having been detained by the conference, Mr (^pence's sermon, however, was of such a nature as to compensate for any disappointment which may have resulted through the non-attendance of Mr Berry. The Rev. Mr S pence took his text in the morning from Numbers XIV., 24., "But my servant Caleb, because he had another spirit with him, and hath followed me fully, him will I bring into the land whereinto he went, and his seed shall possess it." In the afternoon the Rev. Mr Spence delivered a very instructive address on "Wisdom " to the chikuen at the special service, which, from its nature and the simplicity of its illustrations, was botli instructive and impressive. A large number of the parents and friends of the children were also piesent at this service. At the evening service, in the Public Hall, there was a fairly large attendance. Mr Spence again dehveied a very impressive sermon, taking his text from I. Chron. xxix., latter clause of the fifth verse, " And who then is willing to consecrate his service this day unto the Lord ?" During the evening the Rev. Mr Carr announced that a concert and fruit soiree would be held on the following Tuesday evening in the Public Hall, and which he hoped would be liberally patronised.
