[Received January 10th, 7 SO a.m.] Melboukxk, Yesterday. Tjie cricket match between an Australian and the Engli-ah eleven commenced here to-day. The weather has been fine, and the attendance of spectators large, great interest being taken in the contest. The English team went in first, and at the adjournment for luncheon had lost two wickets for 03 runs. The following are the scores :— Barlow, b, 1+ ; C. T. Stiuld, b, 14 ; Steele, not out, <1 ; Leslie, not out, 31.
