Adelaidk, January 6. At the public luncheon given to Sir William Jervois yesterday, one hundied and eighty persons were present, including Ministers and Judges and leading citizens. His Excellency in his speech urged caution in borrowing, favoured immigration, and advocated federation of the Australian colonies.

The Mayor of Wellington has, it is understood, invited the Mayors of the principal towns in the colony to be present. All the local friendly bocieties will take part imtliu proceedings, and all schoolmasters in the city have been wiitten to to arrange, if possible, for a procession of school children, by whom the National Anthem will be sung.
