THE CAMBRIDGE WEST SCHOOL TROUBLE.
At Friday's meeting of the Auckland Education boaul t\\± following business was tiansactcd re the above : — Mr Lalshley had given notice to move the following motion :—": — " That in order to give effect to the principle that the wishes of local committee should be can ied out unless there be very special circumstances to the contrary, the prayer of the committee's petition be acceded to." — The sccictary read a letter from Miss Allen, stating tli.it all the action which had been taken in the matter had not been at her request, and further ac« tion w.is therefore useless, and that she had no desire for imppoiutmcnt, — Mr Laishley then moved, " That in view of Miss Allens letter Mr Laishley have leave to withdraw his motion, and that «i copy of Miss Allens letter be forwarded to the Minister of Education, and also to the local school committee."— Agreed to. — Other business affecting this district was as follows : — Jfaiittipit (Ta ma here).— The Inspector's report on the question of establishing a school here was read. — It was agreed to accept the offer of three acres of land by Mr W. A. Graham for a school site. —To Atohn Wed — The amended boundaries of this district having been .approved of by the committee, it was agreed that the description of boundaries be gazetted. — Te Mnta. — Application for full time school— Action deferred ; further information to be obtained. — Cambridge U r eS. — It was agreed that the whole amount, £10 lo's 6d, be paid for fencing the teacher's house.
