THE PAKURANGA HOUND S.
The Paknranga hounds met again on Saturday last, on Mr A. B. Stubbing's property at Gwynnelands, under the charge of Messrs Brown and Goodman, Mr Buckland acting as master. There was a good gathering of huntsmen and several ladies put in an appearance. A start was made from G-wynnelands shortly after eleven o'clock, and after a good run over a piece of good hunting country, which was freely interspersed with double-ditch-and-bank and thovn fences, a kill was effected, but none of the hunters were in at the death, and nothing but the ears of the hare were secured. The hounds then went across the property of Mr A. Clements and Mr Jas Taylor towards Fen Court. Several hares were started and a few good runs were made, but no deaths. Spills were not very plentiful, but an exception may be made in this respect in regard to a few natives, who took a manifest delight in putting their horses at everything, and taking nothing ; the unfortunate animals generally tumbling headlong into the ditches. The hunt broke up about four o'clock, and an adjournment was made to Mr Buckland's house where refreshments were provided. Before the hunt terminated in the evening a proposal was made to start a club in Waikato, but nothing beyond this was done. Several gentlemen put down their names as members of the Pakuranga Hunt Club.
