London, May 24. The 103 rd Derby was rim to-day, at Epsom, and resulted in a victory fdrTshe Duke of Westminster's filly Shotover, Quicklime beiug second, and Sachem third. On the 20th May the betting -was6to 1 agst. Shotover, 3to 1 agst. Bruce, 7 to 1 agst. Dutch Oven and Quicklime, 9to 1 agst. Gerald. The following is the order of running :—: — , Renewal of ,^hk Derby Stakes of 50sovs. each, h.ft., for colts Bst. lOlbs., and fillies Bst. olbs., for three-year-olds ; about a mile and a-half, starting at the New High Level starting post. Webb) ' 3 This makes the fourth and the third successive Derby which Archer has won, at honour which no other jockey has ever before enjoyed during the 103 years the great race has been run. The favourite, Bruce, was not even placed, which will prove a staggerer to his backers, who had a pot of money on him.
