A fierce storm of rain and wind occnnvd lust niglit. Thirty feet of Cnrtis's wharf was destroyed, and the engine shed at Tararn blown down. The telephone will be taken from Paeroa at once, and jboth there and at Te Aroha ordinary telegraph stations will be erected.
