THE LATEST. [BY TELEGRAPH.— SPECIAL CORRESPONDENT.] . Auckland, Last Night.
A rumor • was current in town, to-day that the Governor has sent for Sir George Grey. It appears to be w ell-founded. It is asserted that a special boat has been despatched to the Kawau, but whether Sir George Grey will accede is, of course, not known. It is thought that he would find, some difficulty in forming a Government. If the rumor be correct, it is considered to be an attempt on the part of Sir Arthur Gordon to obtain a reversal of the native policy of the; present Government. - ! ; ' "'" ' •■
