[The following was published as an extra at an early hour yesterday :—]
Wellington, Sunday. The Premier has sent in his resignation. The following is the letter written' to Major Atkinson by Dr Grace :—: — "April 4th, 1882.—-Dear Atkinson,* —I write .to ask that .you shall r.e-. lieve Mr Hall from, all responsibility in regard to public business at the earliest date possible. You know that I have been prognosticating for more than 12 months that he must infallibly break down. Now that the crash has come, I am anxious, in the interests of Mrs Hall and the .children, to conserve his remaining elasticity for the purposes of constitutional repair. —Yours faithfully, Morgan S. Grace." The resignations of all Ministers were signed before leaving Auckland, and will .be sent in with Mr Hairs. 1 ' '
Wellington, Last Night. The whole Ministry resigned, but will hold office until arrangements are completed for carrying on the business.
