CAMBRIDGE DOMAIN BOARD.
A special meeting of the above board was held at the Town Board Office, Lakestreet, Cambridge, on Wednesday evening last. Present : — Messrs T. Wells (chairman), Walker, Kirkwood, Fisher, and Campbell. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed. The chairman informed the board that he had written circulars to the Board of Education, Auckland Timber Company, and Union Sash and Door Company, asking for plans of cottages suitable for erection on the domain lands, but that he had only received some from the Auckland Timber Company, which were laid on the table. Mr Richardson architect, had, however, placed some at the disposal of the board, which were also open for inspection. After some discussion, it was proposed by Mr J. P. Campbell, " That all houses erected .on the domain lands shall be built in front ith studs not less than 10ft. in height, and the studs to lean-to not less than 7ft. That the size in any case be not less than 20 by 20ft. with sft. verandah in front, the whole to be painted within one year of erection ; also each house to have at least one brick chimney of proper construction." — Carried: The following tenders were received for, clearing and ploughing, Newcombe and Finnerty, 12s 6d per acre, James Forrest,' JG32 for entire work, Pergusson , and Crickett, 16s per 'acre: Tenders were also received from Fergusson and Mann for filling xip holes in the same" sectidn, £23, Newcombe and Firinertyj 1 filling in holes, 10s r each. On _ the motion 'of Mr Campbell, Newcombe and < Finherty's tender for clearing and' ploughing was accepted.
