OH AUPO -TE RORE SWAMP ROAD.
A committee]; of the Waipa County Council, consisting of Messrs H. Buttle, (chairman) and Hadfield, met at Hamilton, yesterday, for the purpose of opening tenders for the construction of a part of the Ohaupo-Te Roi-e road. The following tenders were received : — J. C. Booth, £222 10s 4d (accepted); Peter Rice, £259 19s 3d ; Millar and Thompson, £273 0s 1 Id. The tenders of R. Norrish, and o'. S. Macallen were informal. The time allowed for the completion of the contract is three months, and the work will be proceeded with without delay.
