THE KIHIKIHI SCHOOL.
From the following communication re« ceived by the Secretary of the Kihikihi School Committee it appears that the trouble in connection with the school at that place is now at end. Whoever may have oeen in the right in regard to this unpleasant business, it is clear that the Board have endorsed the action of the Committee : — Board of Education, Auckland, i2tu January, 1882. Sir, — I am directed to inform you that the Board proposes to remove Mr Mathieson and Miss Allen to fill appointments at other schools, and that it is proposed to appoint as head teacher Mr William H. Nicholson, now em* ployed as an assistant at the Auckland Wcllesjystre<*t School. It is also propoicd that Mrs Nicholson, his wife, should act as assistant teacher. She has been similarly employed for the last nine months at the Devonport School, near Auckland, Mr Nicholson is a candidate for a certificate at the forthcoming examination of teachers, and will be ready to enter .upon his duties as soon as the examination is ended, i.e. about the 31st inst. In accordance with section 45 of the Act I am directed to consult your committee with the proposed appointments, and -to enquire whether they have any suggestions to offer to the Board thereon. — I have, &c.
