Nelson. — Our correspondent wires last night : — A seven-roomed house in Wel-lington-street has been destroyed by fire. Muncly, the occupier, had his furniture insured in the Norwich Union for £150 ; and Williams, the owner, was insured in the Union for a similar sum. Greymofth. — Our correspondent wires last night : — A fire broke out in an unoccupied cottage in Masters-street this morning, which resulted in three cottages being destroyed. One was insured in the Victoria office for £100. New Plymouth. — Our correspondent wiros last night « —Yesterday a deputation from the Rechabites waited upon the Grand Lodge of Good Templars with an address of welcome and congratulation. It was responded to by Sir W. Fox. — The steamer Westport has arrived with cement for the New Plymouth harbor works, and will land it at the breakwater. Havelock. — Our correspondent wires last night : —An inquest was held on the body of Charles O'Donnell, of Canvaston, yesterday, when a verdict was returned that deceased was accidentally killed by a loaded truck passing over him ; and the jury wore further of opinion that a duly qualified medical man should be appointed by Government to have the medical charge of the Maoris in the district. Dunkdin. — Our correspondent wires last night : — The Herald says rumors are current that an action involving £20,000, arising out of a recent failure in Uunedin, will be commenced by a well-known company against a Dunedin firm. — Among the insolvencies this week are :—Anderson Bros., bootmakers, debts £2033, assets £1185 ; Thomas Black, jeweller, debts £1015, assets £1100.
