LATEST WELLINGTON NEWS. (BY TELEGRAPH.)

Association and correspondents' wires, which reached us last night, report as follows : — News has been received that the Auckland built yacht Taniwha has won the champion yacht race at Melbourne. Government have under consideration the appointment of commission to consider the claims of the Volunteers in wars in New Zealand. The Government steamer Stella has arrived from Caswell Sound with a shipment of about 10 tons of marble taken from the mines there. These samples will be sent to Dunedin, Sydney, Melbourne, and London.
