Sydney, Yesterday. A banquet was given to Sir H. Parkes, Premier, last night, at which over a hundred members of Parliament were present, together with a number of leading citizens. The affair was a great success. It is currently stated that Dr. Renwick, Secretary of Mines, will succeed Mr Hosking, Secretary of Lands, and that Mr Abbott will be appointed to the portfolio of mines. Two fresh cases of small-pox at Woolloomooloo have been reported to-day.
Brisbane, Yesterday. A serious fire occurred last night in Petwee Terrace, in this city, resultingjn the destruction of several houses. ' The insurances include £400 in the New Zealand offices.
