MELANCHOLY FATAL ACCIDENTS. (PER TELEGRAPH. )

Our Blenheim correspondent wires : — A sad accident occurred yesterday (Thursday) at Wairua Valley, particulars of which have just been reported to the police here. The deceased, who is named Henry Boyce, was in charge of a dray loaded with wool, for shipment at this port. In coming down a sidling the dray was capsized, throwing several bales of wool on deceased, whose death is reported to have been instantaneous. He leaves a wife and four children.

Our Auckland correspondent wires last night : — This morning a man named Uennis Mark ham, residing at Ellerslie, was killed through being knocked down by a horse he was harnessing. It appears that while Mark ham was engaged adjusting his spring-cart harness the blinkets fell off the horse's head, causing the animal to start away. Dr Scott, who was immediately sent for, Avas speedily in attendance, but he at once pronounced life to be extinct. I^eceased had acquired a handsome competency by thrift and prudence. He formerly belonged to the old police force under M'Naughten. Afterwards he became landlord of the Naval Hotel, and acquired considerable property in Karangahape road, Newton, and Ellerslie. He was a married man, but leaves no family.
