Raglan.

Our correspondent writes, under date the 4th inst. :— According to advertisement, Messrs Hunter & Nolan held their cattle sale on Monday, 31st ultimo, at the Okete Yards. The cattle entered for sale numhered 150, but they were not all sold. The prices were low, in ooiif-o-quence of which come settlers withdrew their cattle , and drove them to Ohaupo. If your correspondent miirht be so bold, he desires to give Messrs Hunter & Nolan a word of advice. I have a good opinion of many of the Raglan settlers — I known them all, — but lft me ask Messrs H. & !N. not again to tempt them to break the fourth commandment by advertising a cattle sale for Monday. The day before, Messrs Hunter & Nolan, is Sunday. Most of the settlers would try to get up their cattle on Samrday, but there is that red heifer, or that white steer, they could not find on Saturday ; how strong is the temptation to search for them on Sunday.—On the same day as the sale, Messrs 3?. A. WMtaker and M'cMinn visited the distriot. Of course everybody knows why they came. They came, saw, and went back again. One or the other will conquer by-and-by.— On Sunday, 30th ultimo, the Rev. Mr Phillips paid his last official visit to th,© distriot;. I, W

fortunately, was on the eiok list, and could not venture out to hia service. Bishop Cowie intends to appoint a minister to reside at Ngm-uawahia, and to work this district as well.
