While attending the Native Distiict Court at Taitpo he had an acute attack, which resulted in the formation of an abscess in the right kidney. Mr Moorhouse returned to Wellington from Taupo shortly after the opening of the present session of Parliament, but was unable to attend to his parliamentary duties. It is understood th.it it was the wish of the deceased to be buried in Canterbury, and that the Stella, which is due here to-day, will leave to-morrow morning, conveying the body to Lyttelton. The Funeral. Wkllixgtox, Last Night. The remains of Mr Moorhouse were conveyed on board the JStella this afternoon. The funeral was largely attended by members of both Houses of the legislature and the piincip.il citizens of Wellington.' The Wellington Artillery Corps, of w liich deceased was formerly captain, also attended. The steamer sailed for Lyttelton at 3.30. Mr Fitzgerald, Auditor and Controller-General, was a passenger by the Stella, having been deputed by the Speaker and Premier to repro&aut the Legislatuie at the funeral at Chri&tchurch.
