MANGAPIKO HIGHWAY DISTRICT.
The regular monthly meeting of the trustees of the above district was held at Paterangi on Saturday, t September 3rd, at 1 p.m. All the members being present, the following business was transacted :— The preliminaries of minutes - and correspondence being disposed of, the •Board took into consideration the question of clearing .the roads of furze, upon which legal advice had been taken. This being a burning question in this district, considerable discussion has 'been given 'to it, and the Board decided to act vigorously upon the advice received. The Secretary was ordered to give notice to about forty persons who have allowed gorse to spread more or less ori the district roaHs. Aj. the same time the trustees resolved to fdllow up the giving of notices by legal prbceedings, where neoeadftry through future neglect. ' !i •. . The Board having decided on the site for the Mangapiko 'triage; two members were appointed to arrange With 'Mr'Trobe' for the land required. -' ' Tenders were opened for works on the M*Bgapiko ) ißush' i rdad.' 0.
