THE TE AROHA SCHOOL. TO THE EDITOR.
Sir. — Will you kindly insert these few lines, in reply to a paragraph whioh appeared in your paper of the 13th inst Your correspondent there stated, " When the Wesleyans solicited help fiom the general public to build the Church at Te Aroha.they did it under false pretensions, namely : ' That wheix the Church was built, it should be used as a school-room, and that a nominal rental be charged." That poi tion of your correspondent's statement has a shadow of truth in it , but he adds, ' The Ohurch party asks the Board of Education for twelve shillings per week.' This portion of his statement is as devoid of truth as he himselt appears to be of Christian principles. The Church party did not fix the t>um for rental at all : it was done by those who act as members of the school committee. The church building was offered to them for eight shillings, the cleaning of church to be included. The school committee did not conbider eight shillings sufficient, and they proposed twelve, and. applied for that amount. — I am, &c, D. J. Feazer. Te Aroha, August 22.
