Lost Twenty-five Days in the Bush. [BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH, OWN CORRESPONDENT.] Napier, Last Night.

Intelligence has just been received from Woodville that a man named Andres Jansen, when travelling to Palmerston North, by way of the Seventymile Bush, lost himself in the bush. He set out on the 30th ultimo, and being attacked by a herd of wild cattle, was driven out of his track, and was finally compelled to take refuge in a tree. After remaining there for some time the cattle dispersed, and in descending a fog came on. He wandered about until night, when he found that he had completely lost himself. Since that time he has been moving about the dense bush, supporting himself in the interim by such wild berries as he succeeded in picking up. Finally, he turned up at Masterton on Tuesday last, being directed to the township by hearing the cocks crow. Some idea of the privations endured by him may be guessed from the fact that before losing his road he weighed thirteen stone, and on being recovered he was reduced to seven. He was taken on from Masterton to Woodville, where he is being taken care of.
