ARRIVAL OF THE ENGLISH MAIL VIA SAN FRANCISCO IN AUCKLAND. The Steamer Quarantined. [BY ELECTRIC TELEGRAPH, OWN CORRESPONDENT.]
Auckland, Last Night. The bteamer City of New York attired from Sun Francisco to-day, and hointed the Health Officer's flag". Be Philson went alongside at 4,15 p.m. in the police boat. The captain of the vessel reported that there had been slight siokness, measles since leaving, but no cases of disease, or anything of consequence. Dr Philson then ordered the vessel to the quarantine ground at Motuihi, where she could land mails for fumigation, and after thai could resume her voyage to Sydney. The vessel then headed down. the harbor and steamed off in the direction of Motuihi without landing any Press packages. Passengers for Auckland : — Hislop, Craze, Hawkins ; steerage — the Rev. Ctuden. She has 76 tons of cargo for Auckland. There was no smallpox at Honolulu, except among the natives. There is no siokneßS aboard now.
