TO TUB EDITOE. Sir, — We were greatly surprised when our attention was called to a paragraph, which appeared in the Herald and Wai. Jcato Mail relative to a narrow escape of fire at the back of our premises on Wednesday evening last, considering there was not a sign of fire. If the correspendent of the-e papers had called to pee us relative to supposed fire, we could have driven him all the information required,but wo buppo^e if; matters little if reports are true or false, so long as i-oraething is sent to fill up " coTespondent's news." Regarding the stables being common to all the block, we are very particular, having erected a gate on purpose to close up the yard, when our store is closed. — We are, &c. — Dbt & French, Hamilton May 2nd. j
The Rev. Mr. Henderson, formerly of Geelong, was found guilty of improper conduct by the Presbytery of Adelaide, and solemnly deposed from office as a minister.
