A CORRECTION.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir,— Referring to a few remarks made by your Alexandra correspondent, in your issue of the 4th inst., I beg to state that he is slightly in error. In the first placp I am not among the natives, as stated by him, but am residing in Kihikihi. Secondly, I have neither written to Tawhiao with reference to Government measures concerning Te Puke, neither have I received any communication from Tawhiao. Regarding your correspondent's remarks about my returning to the Thames, I consider that I have the right to consult only myself in the matter, and should not in any case ask his permission to remain in the Waikato or to go where my innlinations or business might lead me. At the same time, I am sorry to notice that he has allowed himself to become a means in the hands of others, by which personal enmity and rindictiveness are expressed against myself.
