FUNERAL OF THE LATE MR. 11. NEWALL.
Tnß f uncial of the 1.-ite Mr. Hamilton Newall took place at Ngaruawahia on Sunday afternoon, and was attended by over 400 people. Nearly all the old settleis anxious to show their respect for one of the most prominent members of their class attended, and during the morning tho township wai filled with buffiries, traps, &«., tinny being from Cambridge, Te Awamutu, and othor distant plio^. People of all denominationus assembled to pay theiv la«.fc duty «> the lem.nns of Mr. Xewiill. The mombers of the three Orange L.nlires, Nos 9, 17, and 21, assembled to the number of about 70. The District Lod^e was opened in the Presbyteii.m Church at 1.30 p.m., by D.G.M., Bro. Kuox, assisted by D.D.G.M , Bro. M.v,kinto-h, and the procession was formed there and proceeded to the residence of the deceased. Arrived there, the ranks opened out to allow the body to be carried through to the hearse in front, and the wit eye then started for the cemetery. The service, for the dead a.s preset ibed by the Presbyterian Church was very impies&ively pei formed by the Tlev. W. Evans .md the orange service was read by Bro. J. Knox.
