This fine weather we have Ir-id lately is now changod to heavy rains, but it will not do any harm if not accompanied by frost,. We have not had anyone of consequence here except our very much respected R.M. and Mr Gresham, solicitor, of Te Awamutu. By-lhe-bye, talking of the great Parihaka, the gr.iss-widows of the prisoners do not seem to have much love or effection for their husbands, as wo have one of the f<iir sex who h.is taken up and become the wife of a native who went to Taranaki some months ago, and has again returned with a partne' 1 . She may perhaps have only come for the benefit of her delicate health during; the imprisonment of her better half. Query ?—? — (Cobbespondkxt).
