THE WAIMATE PLAINS. The Arrests of Natives. [BY TELEGRAPH, PRESS ASSOCIATION.] New Plymouth, Thursday.
Tex more natives have been arrested to-day, and are being sent into town under an escort from the camp. The natives about Parahaka state that they intend to continue fencing for ten days, and fully expect to be arrested. More natives have been seen on the hillocks overlooking the road near the camp, evidently on the look-out to see if the prisoners were taken to town. The natives about Parahaka are continuing their planting, fencing, &c, as usual, and argument is wasted on them. They say Christ was crucified and the prophets persecuted, and so it is with them. The Tui'unula HcrahT* correspondent writes that the natives in that district are not cropping much this season. The natives are unsettled, and likely to continue so.
