LAST NIGHT'S SITTING.
In the Legislative Council the Estimate Debate was resumed. The items, clerks assistants £350, was reduced to £200 on\a division of 38 to 34 ; item, clerks £200^ reduced £°0. In the House of Representatives the following items were struck out :— Addition to Speakers salary, £200 ; addition to Chairman of Committees salary, £200 ; Chairman Petition Committee, £111 ; Chairman Native Affairs Committee, £100; Chairman Waste Lands Committee, £111. On the motion to strike out Clerk of Parliaments addition to salary, £100, was lost by 41 to 29. A further motion to reduce the item by £20, was lost by 39 to 35. A reduction of £50 was then moved, lost by 42 to 31. The item as printed was then passed, as was also the item 100 addition to permanent salary of second clork assistant, on a division of 54 to 22.
