KIRIKIRIROA HIGHWAY BOARD.
The annual meeting of ratepayers of the Kiiikhiroa Highway Board was held on Wednesday at the Royal Hotel. Mr Seddon was voted to the chair, and read the notice calling the meeting as advertised in the Waikato Times. The Secretary read the statement of accounts as follows: — Receipts: Rates, £683 13s lid; Government subsidies, £497 13s sd; share of County Fund, £160; deposits from contractors, £-41 ; miscellaneous, £11 17s; Bank overdraft June 30th, 1880, £110 Us: total, £1304 15s -4d. Expenditure: Interest, £23 1 2s 9d; bridges and culverts, £10-4 18s lOd; commission collecting rates. £31 ; bocks and stationery, £l 16s; contractors' deposits refunded, £49 ; legal expenses, £6 3s 3d ; advertising, £27 10s ; salaries, £20 ; engineering, £38 os 3d ; road supervision, £(53 81 ; valuation, £12 : sundries, £9 16s 8d ; formation and repairs to roads, £849 11s 7d; Bank overdraft July 1,1879: total, £1304 13s 4d. The meeting having adopted the accounts as read proceedsd to the next b.isinens of election of Trustees for the ensuing year. The following gentlemen were duly proposed and seconded : — Messrs Swarbrick.Gillefct, Primrose, Coates, McLernon, and Cochrane. A ballot being necessary, the Chaiiman. requested the meeting to appoint Wo scrutineers. Messi*s K. Hill and L. O'Neill were chosen, audtHe result of the poll was in favor of the first five gentlemen name I. The following appointments were also duly made, in confoimity with the provisions of the Highways Act. Messrs. Seddon and R Harris to be the Auditors, and Messis. Ellison and C. Tippen, Fenceviewers. A vote of thanks to the Chairman concluded the business of the meeting-
Board Meeting. The firs'" meeting of the newly appointed Board ww t \3 then held, when it was umnimous that Mr Primrose should again be chairman, the honor, being gracefully acknowledged, business \va* proceeded with. The minutes of the previous meeting were read and confirmed.
Correspondence. A letter was read from Mr A. Bruce Suttor, in reference to drainage through his property. The Secretary was insti ucted to reply that a former Board had nettled th& matter with the then ownsr of the property. Other letters were read, but were of no public interest.
