A CORRECTION.
TO THE EDITOR. Sir, — Allow me to contradict a veryfalse statement which appeared in your issue of 13th, from a letter or correspondence taken fr6m N.Z. Free Press in reference to an effort made in aid of the Wesleyan Circuit Liquidation of Debt Fund, in which a Te Awamutu correspondent states that our Anglican friends "were conspicuous by their absence." Now, in justice to our friends in question, I must state that not only have they shown their sympathy towards us, by their presence, but many of them have liberally aided us in our efforts to raise money towards the said fund. Now, sir, it is very evident that the Te Awamutu Free Press correspondent must have occupied the position (viz., that of absence) which he gives our Anglican friends the credit of, or he would not have made such a statement. It would be well in future if he would go to a little trouble to ascertain the truth, or leave such matters to those persons who will give reliable information. By inserting the above you will oblige. — I am, &c, Jakes Bbidgman. Te Awamutu, April 14th, 1880.
