On Tuesday Maclean and Co. reported that some of* the cattle were sick — it was feared with pleuro — and asking the Board to have them inspected as soon as possible. They further informed the Board that the cattle have been in the same paddocks since October, 1878, having been imported from Sydney, N.S.W., in the same month. As they have only been removed once since then — to the show at Cambridge last year — it was somewhat of a mystery how they got the infection.
