Mr McNicol's Cattle.
Yesterday Mr. leaden visited Mr. McNicols farm for the purpose of slaughtering some cf the cattle reported to be diseased. When he got thero Mr McNicol invited some of his friends and neigh hours to be present, but Mr Naden could not wait having received a telegram to proceed to Auckland. He accordingly left an order for the destruction of the cattle, and came on to Hamilton, where ha found a telegram from Cambridge intermating that he was required at once. Great disappointment was felt by those who subsequently went to Mr McNicol,s place that Mr .Naden could not be present but under the circumstances it was not possible for him to do so. One of the beasts was subsequently killed, but in the opinion of those present, including Messrs. Lake, Burke, Atkinson, S. Fleming and Dinsdale, the animal was perfectly free from disease. Mr Naden also served Mr McNicol with a notice declaring the farm an infected place.
