DRAINAGE WORKS AT CAMBRIDGE.
TO THE EDITOR. Si r> — My attention has been drawn to a letter signed by Mr W . Keid, in which he states that the Cambridge Town Board have decided to drain the upper portion of the township into the lagoon. Mr Reid has been misinformed in the matter. The Board have merely appointed a committee to.confer witk their Engineer Mr Hos ing, in reference to the best means of draining the upper pa-t of the township feuch conference has not yet taken place, consequently notfcing has been decided. I may stat9 for Mr Heid's information that the Board have applied to the (jrovernment for the lake reserve, and are in hopes their application may be successful. Ihe writer sp oke to the Hon. Mr VVhitaker on the subject during the past week, besides making a torraal written application to the Minister for Lands, and anticipates a favorable reply to his communication. — I am, &c, J. PALiiisE Campbell, Chairman Cambridge is .T.D.B. Town Board (ffice, Cambridge, 11th Feb. 1880.
